Sales Representative/Business Development Manager

Connectrans is looking for a sales professional who is highly motivated and driven by the opportunity to achieve financial and career success. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form. You have a proven track record of sales success with a strong focus on new business development, including: cold calling, appointment making, presentation, negotiation and closing. You’re an effective listener with strong problem solving and decision making skills. You’re a “people person” and enjoy interacting with your external and internal customers. You are a team player but also possess the ability to work independently to meet goals and deadlines.
Identify new opportunities, negotiate rates, close the business and maintain the overall relationship with the customer. Work closely with the Operations Manager and Sales Manager to develop pricing and “on-board” the customer. You will ensure the customer’s needs are being met by the dispatch/customer service team and help to resolve any issues that may arise. The sales professional will cultivate strong personal relationships with “internal customers” in order to support the external customer’s goals & objectives.
Education and Experience:
Minimum 5 years industry experience, specifically in cross-border transportation
Minimum 2 years outside sales experience
College Diploma / University degree is preferred
Comprehensive understanding of the North American transportation industry
Full load and LTL experience preferred
Excellent presentation and communication skills
